Family-Owned · Built Around a Team
Goterra isn’t built around one person — it’s built around a team that trains together, holds each other to high standards, and shows up at every job with the skills and the mindset to serve homeowners the right way.
“Jose answered on the first ring. Was at my house within a day, found three issues, fixed everything same day. Incredibly fair — the real deal.”

Team Training & Standards
Goterra invests in training that most irrigation companies don’t think about — and some don’t even know exists. Our technicians are certified by the manufacturers whose products they install. Our communication is coached. Our mindset around serving homeowners is something we actively work on together.
Every Goterra technician completes formal manufacturer training through Hunter and Rain Bird — the two most trusted names in residential irrigation. Product knowledge isn't assumed. It's earned and updated.
Our team trains directly on Southwest Florida Water Management District guidelines — not from a handout, but through local SWFWMD training sessions. We know Phase III, Phase II, watering window rules, and backflow compliance because we've been trained on it in the field we work.
Technical skill means nothing if a homeowner walks away confused. Our team works with communication coaches to learn how to explain what's wrong, what it costs, and why it matters — in plain language, every time.
We invest in our team's personal development — not just their technical skills. Why? Because a technician who understands what they're doing it for shows up differently at every door. This work is about serving people in their home, and that deserves the right mindset.
We study the home service experience from a homeowner's perspective — what creates trust, what creates anxiety, and what makes someone call you back (or tell their neighbors). Every interaction is intentional.
We learn from the best operators in the home service industry — not just irrigation. Scheduling, communication, pricing transparency, follow-through, and warranty standards informed by world-class service businesses.
Credentials & Ongoing Training
A Florida Specialty Irrigation License sets a legal baseline — it’s the minimum. The training below is what Goterra’s team pursues because homeowners deserve technicians who are genuinely excellent at what they do.
There’s a difference between a company that does a little bit of everything and one that’s built — licensed and trained — specifically for your irrigation system. Goterra holds a Florida Specialty Irrigation Contractor license. Not a landscaping license. Not a general license that covers dozens of trades at once. We’re not a lawn care company that handles irrigation on the side, a mowing service that swings by when something looks off, or a jack-of-all-trades outfit that spreads thin across every type of job.
We are specifically, exclusively, and professionally licensed for your irrigation system. It’s all we do. That specialization is what makes the difference — in assessment, in installation quality, and in the warranty we can stand behind.
Built to Serve — Not to Impress
Jose started Goterra not to be the best irrigation tech in the room — but to build a team that was. The goal from the beginning was simple: create a company where every technician who knocked on a homeowner’s door was trained, professional, honest, and genuinely invested in doing good work.
That means hiring right, training continuously, and building a culture where the standard isn’t “close enough” — it’s the kind of work you’d want done on your own home. Jose’s role has always been to set that standard and hold the team to it, not to be the only person who can meet it.
When Goterra grows, the service doesn’t get diluted — because the training and standards grow with it. That’s by design.
What You Experience
The training translates directly into what you experience at your front door — and in your yard when the job is done.

FAQ
Yes. Our team completes formal training programs through Hunter Irrigation and Rain Bird — the products we install most. This isn’t watching a YouTube video; it’s manufacturer certification that covers system assessment, installation standards, and product specifications.
Goterra is 100% independently owned and operated — a family business, not a franchise. The standards, training, and team are all built in-house.
Beyond technical certification, our team trains with communication coaches, personal development instructors, and home service industry experts. We believe that serving homeowners well requires both the technical skill and the mindset to match — and we invest in both.
