Many homes in Plant City, Auburndale, Winter Haven, and rural Hillsborough County run irrigation from private wells or lake-draw systems. These systems require different service expertise. Goterra handles pump reviews, pressure tank service, and full pump replacement.

Private well-based irrigation is common throughout Polk County and many older Hillsborough County properties. These systems have unique service requirements — and standard irrigation contractors often lack the pump expertise to identify pressure tank failures, impeller wear, or aquifer draw-down correctly.
Inconsistent or low pressure from a well system points to a pump losing output, a waterlogged pressure tank, or aquifer draw-down. We trace the issue to the source, not just describe the symptom.
A waterlogged pressure tank causes rapid pump cycling — the pump kicks on every few seconds. We test, recharge, or replace tanks to restore proper pressure cycling.
Submersible and jet pump motors that have failed or are drawing excessive current — replaced with correctly sized pumps matched to your system's demand and well yield.
Running a pump without water burns it out quickly. We install and configure dry-run protection switches for well-based systems to prevent pump damage.
We measure your well's actual flow rate and compare it against your system's zone-by-zone demand — important for systems with aging aquifer drawdown or zone-count growth.
Lake-draw systems have specific service needs: screen maintenance, intake depth adjustment for low lake levels, and dry-run protection. Goterra services these systems throughout Polk County.
Well-based irrigation is especially common in Plant City (agricultural history), Auburndale and Winter Haven (lakefront properties with lake-draw systems), rural eastern Hillsborough County, Seffner, Valrico’s eastern corridor, and large-lot neighborhoods throughout Polk County.
SWFWMD Phase III restrictions apply to all irrigation sources — city water, private wells, and lake-draw systems alike. If you draw from a private well or surface water, you are still subject to the one-day-per-week Phase III schedule. We update your controller for compliance at every service visit.

Common Questions
Short-cycling means the pump kicks on and off every few seconds rather than running for 30 to 60 seconds between cycles. This almost always means a waterlogged pressure tank — the bladder has failed and the tank can no longer hold air pressure. Short-cycling is very hard on pump motors and should be addressed promptly.
Pump service varies based on the issue. Pressure tank recharge or replacement and pump motor replacement are different scopes. All Goterra work starts with a free system review and a written quote before any repairs begin.
Yes. SWFWMD Phase III water shortage restrictions apply to all irrigation sources, including private wells and lake-draw systems. The restrictions are about total regional aquifer demand — not about your water source.
